Dr. Pierre Du Charme

During the four-year Chiropractic degree program, Dr. Du Charme enrolled in as many post-graduate adjusting and technique courses as he could handle outside the heavy school curriculum. These courses included study in the Gonstead method, S.O.T., Thompson Terminal Point, Motion Palpation Institute, Applied Kinesiology, Webster Technique and The Bunion Technique.

“The more tools you have, the more conditions and people you are able to help. There isn’t anything I haven’t come across in practice in 28 years that is unknown to me. I don’t know everything, but I’ve sure seen a lot of conditions and as a result have developed the tools and techniques to help a wide variety of problems.”

In 1988 he was awarded the Chiro Cybex Award for outstanding research.

After beginning his practice, he continued his post-graduate studies to improve his understanding and treatment of the complex human bio system by continuing his training in techniques such as BioCranial Therapy, drop table and extremity adjusting techniques, Arthrostim adjusting, H.I.O., Myofascial Release, Rolfing techniques (he is not certified) and also developed his own unique style of adjusting based on his father’s years of experience on over 39,000 patients and his own experience with over 15,000 new patients. He is also the inventor of BIOFLEX REPATTERNING.

In the 1990’s Dr. Du Charme authored and distributed a monthly nutritional newsletter to thousands of people for nearly three years. During his career, he has advised patients on the use of proper nutrients, diet, homeopathic remedies and the use of herbs to improve, and counter the effects of improper diet, stress and ill-health and to help stabilize his corrections.

During his career, Dr. Du Charme also used a wide range of modalities to improve his patients’ conditions and is proficient in the use of Cryotherapy, Traction, BioPulse (Magnetopulse) Therapy, Diapulse Therapy, Interferential Current Therapy, High Voltage Galvanic Therapy, Laser therapy, Infrared Therapy, Ozone Therapy, Magnetic Therapy, Multiple Wave Oscillator Therapy, Micro Current Therapy and Earthing.

Dr. Pierre Du Charme graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (C.M.C.C.) in 1988 and has practiced Chiropractic ever since.

After graduation he joined his father’s practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His practice grew very quickly and within two years they were forced to open a second location in Winnipeg. Both father and son continued their practices in separate locations due to high demand. Dr. Du Charme left his practice in Winnipeg in August of 2014 after 26 years of service and moved to Parksville, BC where he now resides and practices.

“Vancouver Island is the best place to live in Canada. People on the island are the happiest and healthiest people I’ve encountered anywhere and I want to help people here maintain or achieve their goal of a long healthy life with the help of chiropractic care.”

Dr. Du Charme focuses on the care of the Cranium, spine and extremities with the use of his hands and some very unique painless instrument adjusting.

He continues to use every technique he has come to rely on for good results and thrives to achieve quick results to help his patients regain their active lifestyle. He is a big proponent of maintaining health through regular chiropractic care.

While going through his files before leaving practice in Winnipeg, he was pleasantly surprised to see that all his patients who had been under regular chiropractic care had sustained improvements in their health.

“If you know that every impulse generated travels through the nervous system to its final destination and back to generate information for feedback, you will understand the need to keep that system up-to-date.”

“Your spine is designed for protection and movement. It houses your most important system, your nervous system. The spine flexes, rotates and moves in multiple directions at once to accommodate your behavior and needs. But even more importantly, it responds not only to input from your environment via an immeasurable amount of receptors relaying information from your five main senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch) but also from receptors found in your skin. The skin and nervous system develop together during fetal development and are intricately linked.”

“We are complex human beings that endure physical, chemical, emotional and environmental stressors every day. Any interference in your nervous system will result in poor health and even poorer coping mechanisms.”

Subluxations, as identified only by Doctors of Chiropractic, are reduced or cleared using specific chiropractic adjustments. These adjustments aid the body in its recovery and lessen the effects of stress caused by every day living. Chiropractic Adjustments correct and maintain the spine in optimal health by removing the interference that may be causing your disease or ill health and preventing you from recovering quickly and fully.

“No other form of therapy will do what Chiropractic can do for you. It’s plain and simple.”
